War Child

It rarely makes global headlines, but over five million adults and children from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are currently displaced or refugees, away from their home.

Though the war officially ended in 2003, sporadic conflicts and episodes of extreme violence committed by armed groups or militias remain a threat, especially to children and women living in Eastern DRC and in the Kasai region.

War Child works with local communities and authorities in the DRC to put child protection laws into effect and prevent their exploitation and abuse. This includes running a free helpline to provide rapid support to children at risk, and training teachers in rehabilitated schools to ensure children have access to a protective environment and safe education opportunities from an early age.

We are proud to say that 10 per cent of all of the profits made from The Tin Soldiers continue to go toward War Child and the incredible work that they do.
